The Lost Party

Ashley Mae Hoiland-Christensen is the talented artist behind the shop Birds of Ashmae. I've known her since High School and it has been so fun to see her achieve her dream of writing a children's book. Her book has been placed on Kickstarter to raise funds for the book to get published. There are only a few days left to pledge so please check it out and donate any money you can. Even the smallest amount helps! And everyone who has pledged $10 or more will receive a hard copy of the book when it is published, plus a single postcard print with an image from the book.

This book is sure to be a family keepsake! The images will be just beautiful.

Feature Friday: 7 Year Wedding

Today I am featuring the home of wedding blogger Lenya from the blog 7 Year Wedding. I love her style and I think you will to. Here is what she says she loves most about her home:

"What I love most about my house is that when I step in the door it feels like home - The design is fresh, modern and filled with pieces full of meaning that tell the story the life of my husband and I.  As the saying goes "Home is where the heart is" and I sure feel like my heart is here!"

Enjoy!

Your Chance to Win a Window Treatment of Your Choice From Windows By Melissa

If you've been reading my blog for awhile you know that I love using Windows by Melissa for projects. She does a great job at roman shades, curtains etc.

I even had her do the roman shade in Jane's Nursery

You have a chance to win a free window treatment of your choice from Windows by Melissa.
She is doing an Ugly Fabric Challenge. Sounds intriguing no?

Here is how you can enter, send Melissa a link to an ugly fabric. She will then do a blog post with the fabric choices and then pick the top 3 ugliest fabric and make window treatments out of them. Then the readers will vote on their favorite window treatments (favorite for whatever reason: ugliest, best looking for the material, etc). The winner will get a free window treatment of their choice, fabric included (not the ugly fabric, but fabric of their choice). And each participant will get a coupon or credit.

Go to her website to get more information on entering!

Wild Animal Birthday Party

Last week Jett was invited to attend a Wild Animal Birthday Party thrown by my friend Erin for her little boy. It was so cute and the best part is that she barely spent any money!

She printed off some of these Free Caravan Signature Party Hats for all the kids to wear.

The centerpiece of the table were animal figurines that she already had.

The paper straws are from Zurchers. The plates and napkins are from Target. She created a Tissue Paper Fringe banner using a tutorial she found on Pinterest.

She made a simple cake that fit the party color scheme but didnt' take too long to make.

The most expensive part of the party was The Wild Wonders animal show that she hired to bring real life animals to the party. But even that was very reasonably priced.

The animal show was a HUGE hit with the kids.

The food was kept simple. Pizza and strawberries and the kids loved it!

The goodie bags are from Zurchers

The Foam Animal Masksare from Amazon as well as the Zoo Animal Tattoos

The party was a blast! It's great when you can throw a fun party without too much work or having to spend too much money!
