Beautiful Paper Source

I have been looking for inexpensive art ideas for the model home and I came across the most beautiful decorative paper from Paper Source. They have such a great selection of patterned and metallic paper. And most of it is big enough to frame as art in your home.

You can also use paper to cover books as I did in this room

Make sure you check out all the paper options here!

A Little Update on... Me!

Well it's been an interesting couple of months let me tell you. I've spent lots and lots of time lying on the sofa feeling sad and depressed. I literally felt like I had all the energy zapped out of me. It seriously took all I had just to get dressed in the morning. And if I was getting dressed it wasn't really that impressive. I've truly been living in sweats. Morning sickness is killer.

I think (knock-on-wood) that I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm 12 weeks. yay! I am still throwing up but I finally have some energy back. It's AMAZING!! Now that I am slowly feeling like myself I'm realizing that my to-do list is miles and miles long. I am sooooo sorry to all my very patient clients. I promise I'll try and catch up. My inbox is like a big black hole right now that I'm trying to organize and make sense of. And let's not even go into the current state of my poor office.

Here's a really crappy picture I took with my phone today and believe it or not this is after I spent an hour cleaning it. I haven't seen the floor in weeks!

To all of you great readers thanks for hanging in there with me. I am hoping that once I start working again I'll have lots of fun things to blog about.

Second Trimester here I come!

Etsy iPhone Cover Roundup

Maybe it's dumb but I feel so depressed that I don't  have an iphone. I feel like I'm the only one left in the world that can't use Instagram. I'm crossing my fingers that I might get one for my birthday this summer. Here are some iphone covers I'm coveting.

Paris Room Before and After

Back in July I had a client contact me about helping her finish up a room in her apartment in Paris. Umm.... yes!
Meaghan is living in Paris while her husband is stationed there with the military. The room was overwhelming to her because of the size. She really wanted a little bit more color and personality in the room.

This is what we started with. Not too bad. The floors and fireplace are so beautiful. She already had most of the furniture and she wanted to keep her curtains if we could. So I came up with a plan that would add some color to this already beautiful room.

Here is the design board.

Working across the world proved to be rather difficult. Meaghan was a dream client to work with but the time differences made communication take longer. We also couldn't get a lot of things shipped from the U.S. to Paris. But we worked together to get the room together.

Here it is now!

We went through many different rug options but ultimately decided on FLOR tiles. These were perfect for shipping overseas. Plus my client loves them. This rug really was the key in getting the room anchored.

We were going to go with a tufted West Elm settee but my client was walking through Paris and saw this one in a shop window! It's beautiful and it was great we didn't have to worry about shipping it. The pillows are from Z Gallerie

My client had two Louis style chairs that she wanted to recover. We chose this vibrant red fabric.

This project was one of the highlights of my business so far. To know that I could help someone so far away from me in Paris finish a space that she now loves is really amazing to me. It's also fun that we didn't have to add too much to this room or spend too much money to really turn it around and make it feel more homey for my client.

New Pillow Love

Look at this beautiful new pillow from World Market. It looks eerily similar to the pillow I have in my Living room.

I've had a lot of emails about my floral pillows and they are no longer available for sale at Pottery Barn so snatch up those World Market pillows while you can!

(update: I can't seem to find the pillow anymore... I'm wondering if they sold out? I'll let you know if they come back. In the meantime check out this cute floral pillow!)

Sawyer's Room

My good friend and seamstress Erin has terrific taste. She is always working on projects in her home and she recently finished her son Sawyer's room. I asked her if I could show it off on my blog!

She used the same stencil that I used in my master bedroom for an accent wall in his room. She also made the roman shade herself.

She made the headboard and all the pillows for his bed.

Her mother-in-law made that adorable chevron quilt.

She used some pages from my favorite botanical book for artwork.

The dresser was a craigslist find. She painted it and added new knobs.

Rhino print is from Birds of Ashmae. The fish print is from Nella Designs

The fun bookshelves are from Ikea. She bought the S from a craft store and painted it orange.

Thanks Erin for sharing Sawyer's cute room with us!

On Sale Right Now

I am still searching the internet for great deals for the model home. While searching some of my favorite shops here are some great sale items I came across!

I love the light gray trellis pattern. Buy it here

I have been eyeing this lamp for awhile. I might change out the shade but I love that base.

This little writing desk is too cute.

A pair of these would make great nightstands.  You could even change out the knobs to add some color.

I love the scalloped detail on this mirror.

This fabric is so pretty and it is originally $50 a yard. This is a great deal!

This cute little star runner is so cheerful!

These seafoam chairs are adorable. I love the color.

I am always looking for good little side tables. This one is a steal!
